Life is short. The Bible calls it ‘but a vapor‘, (James 4:14). With that in mind, sometimes we’ve got to ask ourselves this question…
Jeremiah 5:31
The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests exercise rule at their own hands and by means of the prophets. And My people love to have it so! But what will you do when the end comes?
What will you do when the end comes? When we get to the end our our days the only thing that will truly matter is this: did we fulfill the will of God?
It won’t matter how much stuff we accumulated, how many places we traveled, or what fun we had. This world and all it’s “treasures” will vanish, and only people – the true treasures – will remain, and our lives will echo for eternity the pursuit for which we lived.
What will I do when the end comes? Well, I plan to look back with joy knowing I gave 100% to fulfill the perfect will of God; knowing that I lived not for myself, but for others. When the end comes, and come it will, I want to be found still standing on the Rock. Still believing. Still rejoicing.
The closer we get to the end, the more crucial our decisions become. We should keep in mind that we’ll have to live with those choices for ever. What I will do when the end comes, has everything to do with what I’m doing right now, while the end is coming.
