Our faith is designed with an inbuilt targeting system, and will always work when our coordinates are accurate. The question we have to answer it, “Where should or faith be focused?†Is your faith in your ability or your knowledge? Is your faith in what you have or have not done? Those are all possible coordinates, but they’re not the right ones.
Faith should have just one focus, God. Our faith is in Him, in His love and His goodness. Sometimes we can unknowingly get our focus off of God and onto something else. We still call it “faith†but it really becomes “worksâ€.
One of the false targets I have had to replace in my life is related to my giving. I thought that by putting faith in my seed, I was helping it to grow and produce. After all, I’ve heard so often to, “sow in faith!†as if my faith is what would cause my seed to produce. Sowing in faith is right and good so long as your faith is in God, not your seed. Your seed doesn’t need your faith to grow; it needs God to cause it to grow. That’s why we must sow in faith toward God. Our faith must always be toward Him and His Word.
It’s a simple adjustment that makes a world of difference. Just put your faith in Him. Let His love and goodness become the target that your faith is locked on to. Whatever you are doing or believing for, remember, faith in Him always works.
What are you putting faith into today? Are you believing God?
