It would look pretty silly if I went fishing in my own bathtub (unless it was packed full of fish that some how miraculously got there). In most cases I must get out where the fish are and cast my line into the water. The same applies to a Believer’s work of seeking and saving the lost. To do so, is to follow in the footsteps of Jesus; the greatest fisher-of-men of all time.
I must get out there, where the lost are, and communicate Christ to them. To often the body of Christ attempts to evangelize within the four walls of a church building, rather than taking the gospel to the streets where the people are. Our greatest opportunities to win the lost are not in churches, but in the places of this world where people gather. It seems obvious, but I’ve found that the more we are reminded of the obvious the better off we’ll be.
God given opportunities are coming your way. Seize them! In the grocery line, at Wal-Mart, in Circle K. Remember, you’ll never be at that exact place, around those exact people, at that exact time ever again. Let God use you!
