James 4:15
What does the Lord want? That is such an important consideration. Really the most important.
How then do I know if something is what the Lord wants? There are many things to consider, and here are a few:
- Does it agree with the Word of God?
- Does it bear witness with wise council?
- Does it lead to peace?
James continues along these lines with a stern warning.
Otherwise you are boasting about your own plans, and all such boasting is evil.
James 4:16
I must evaluate the origin of my intention. Is it rooted in the plan of God or a plan of my own? I can sort through the details in prayer, and the Holy Spirit will help me take the step He wants me to take. He is faithful!
