We truly do have so much to give thanks for, and today should especially remind us of that. Here in India, we don’t really celebrate Thanksgiving holiday, in fact I would have totally forgotten if some of you who are in the U.S. hadn’t reminded me. But I am reminded very often of how much there is to be thankful for. God is so good, and He does bless His people so much, in so many ways.

I remember a night, several years ago when I was still rather new in the Lord, when I thanked myself to sleep. As I was lying in my bed waiting to fall asleep, I just began to thank God. One thing after another came to my mind to be thankful for, in fact I don’t ever remember running out of things to say; somewhere during my thankfulness I just drifted off to sleep. I’ve never forgotten it.

After moving to India, from the U.S., I found even more things to be thankful for. Right now, as I’m typing this post it’s a mystery whether I get to leave the state of Sikkim tomorrow or not. We are scheduled to take a trip to Shillong, but we won’t be able to leave unless the army or police provides us with safe exit. The thing that has caused all the trouble is called a, "Strike." It happens all the time in India, and this time it’s a Nepali political party who has started it. We cannot take our trip without special escort because without it, our vehicle could be attacked and we could even be beaten or at worse killed (we are confident none of these things will happen to us Praise God).

If you are reading this from a nation that doesn’t have to deal with strikes, then hey – you have one more thing to be thankful for!

So, we’ll see tomorrow if I get to leave or not. If I do get to get to leave, I’ll be gone for about a week, and you won’t here from me until I get back. If that is the case, I would really appreciate your prayers. We’ll be going to recruit students for our up-coming Bible School in January.

Okay – a quick update…the above post was actually supposed to go out last night, but we were out of power the whole night. One more thing to be thankful for – stable electricity.

We did make it out of the state! The strike was suddenly called off long enough for us to leave Sikkim, and we will begin our journey to Shillong tonight. I probably won’t be able to update you untill I get back to Sikkim sometime around the 28th. Thank you for your prayers!
